In His Own Words

This has been the best company I’ve worked for. I was working for the largest steel company in the Caribbean in 2013 when I learned about Oldcastle. After talking with a recruiter and becoming more impressed, I applied. I was flown up from my native Puerto Rico for an interview.

I started off as a plant manager and moved my way up to becoming a Site Manager. Along the way, our location grew from 25 to 45 employees. I am also an active duty member of the Army Reserves, something supported by the company. During my tenure, I have participated in the Management Development Program (MDP) and Zodiac “Game of Business Finance and Strategy” where I was able to enhance my skills even more. It’s been a great journey. I love the challenge and always strive to be the best at what I do for the company.

Oldcastle Infrastructure lets people grow in their positions by giving them freedom and flexibility to try new ideas and make things better. The site I manage is not one of the biggest, but has grown to be successful in all areas, including achieving a 97% record for safety with no recordable in over three years. If you put in the effort and are willing to work hard and educate yourself, you have the opportunity to be on top. In addition, we love to reward our employees. We have Christmas parties and participate in community service activities. We recognize people and encourage their growth. This is a great place for building a career. You can start as a laborer and move up to be a manager or even higher, it’s all up to you!
