What do you like about working here?
There are many reasons why I like working for CRH. First, it is a very successful global conglomerate in the building material manufacturing/distribution space that is always looking for better ways to do business. Second, the people (from top to bottom in the organization) are bright, approachable and genuinely care about the company, customers, fellow employees and the community.
What are the best parts of your job?
I get to work with the best recruiting team in Rochester. We also help people find a career with a stable, profitable company that values the contributions made by each and every employee.
What would co-workers say about you?
I hope that they would say that I care very much about our team and CRH.
Can you share any funny or interesting work stories from over the years?
When we first started to build out the recruitment effort in Rochester, we were sitting in some unused office space in our warehouse on Buffalo Road. When we started to add staff to our team, we had to do everything possible to find space – including sitting people in old closets and conference rooms. Since that time, we were fortunate to build a foundation that could apply to all of the CRH companies. This has allowed us to grow this team so significantly. We are now in a true office on Scottsville Road, but that wouldn’t have happened without the help and patience of many in our original building.
What was your first job ever?
I was a dishwasher at the local truck stop in Round Lake, NY.
Tell us about your family.
I have been married to my wife Erin for over 10 years. We have two boys Kyle and Ethan and two dogs – Shelby and Ginger.
Do you have any hobbies?
Lately, I spend most of my spare time with my family shuttling my kids back and forth from the YMCA or reading. I do try to get out for long bike rides when we have good weather.
